Project appraiser in Fil'akovo

Cross-border project for ‘Smart Communities’ have been implemented with the leadership of the Interindustria Knowledge Center Foundation (ITA), whose project closing event was held on April 12, 2019 at Gymnasium Fil’akovo.

The co-financing of the European Regional Development Fund, the closing event within the framework of the Smart Communities project, László Molnár, head of the Gymnasium Fil’akovo, greeted the interested.

Viktória Józsa, ITA project coordinator, presented the project philosophy, consortium partners, planned and realized results, and highlighted that the project was implemented in the most disadvantaged rural settlements, involving the local population irrespective of age group, origin, social status, disabilities. Within the framework of the project, NGOs, educational and research institutions were organized into a cooperation network and joint professional programs, trainings and competitions were organized and implemented.

The overall objective of the project is to increase the number and volume of education, research and development and innovation activities in the cross-border area through networking, which contributes to raising the region's international visibility, competitiveness and added value in the region, and to a significant reduction of inequalities within the country.

The Smart Communities project was implemented in the most disadvantaged rural settlements, involving the local population irrespective of age group, origin, social status, and changed working capacity.

At the event, Anna Bíró, Community Vice-President for the Association for Renewable Countryside (KMVE), Lucia Komornikova and Iveta Orbanova, project partners representing ASTRA, shared their experiences of the project.

In addition, Ildikó Tuba, programmanager of the Interreg V-A SK-HU Cooperation Program, spoke at the event about the program itself and about further support opportunities, highlighting the support for continuing the project.

The project was successfully completed, considering the overrun of the number of children and adults involved. Positive feedback from students, adults, scientists, and practitioners has confirmed the idea that partners should continue their activities in the future.
